The building style is a combination of wooden structures and canvas blinds, opening up to the desert beyond. The lodge reflects the ambience of a tented camp, but provides the comfort and protection of a permanent building raised on platforms above the dunes.

Desert Lodge offers a spacious main area consisting of two lounges, a number of sundowner decks, a fireplace, a tea deck, a library, the wine cellar and two dining rooms.

All communal areas of the lodge open out onto decks with superb views. The variety of recreational space gives you plenty of options for relaxing in a quiet corner or connecting with your fellow guests.

The tented rooms are spaced apart and orientated in a sensitive manner to the environment.  Each of the nine spacious tented rooms are designed so that your bedroom and bathroom look out over your verandah to the views of the desert and mountains beyond.  The view from your tented room is of paramount importance and hence we have designed the space so it can be enjoyed from where ever you are.  We recommend that you sleep with your canvas blinds open to feel the soft evening breeze and marvel at the vast star-studded sky.

Desert Lodge is ideal for families with 3 tented family rooms that have a second twin bedded room adjacent to the main bedroom.  The two rooms share a bathroom and are only suitable for families.

Please note:  The pool at Desert Lodge was badly damaged in a storm. The re-opening date is currently TBC, but please expect not to have access to the pool in 2023.

Wolwedans is about experiences, people and the endless landscapes that will shift your perspective forever.  Where you lay your head is important but it’s nothing compared to what you will experience with us on the Namibrand reserve.

Activities included:  Morning and evening scenic drives | Wolwedans Desert Sundowners | Heart and Home village tour | Wolwedans Water walk | “Antares” Naked eye star safari | Full day scenic safari | Bushman walk | E-biking
