Village Tour

The Wolwedans Village is our base camp of operations. It’s abuzz with activity and one of the most exciting places at Wolwedans.

Passionate team members will explain all aspects of our interdependent base operations and lead this tour of our back of house operations. We explore the advanced water management system and grey-water infrastructure as well as the solar panel field. In a bid to cut our carbon footprint we have invested heavily in energy-reduction initiatives, while a state-of-the-art photovoltaic power installation has meant that all of our camps now run entirely on solar power.

Since few guests have the chance to admire them, our Village tour also takes guests to see our impressive back-of-house infrastructure including carpenters, welders, electricians, mechanics and refueling stations.

Visit our trainees in class while enjoying ice-cold purified water from far beneath the Namib Desert while you meander through our quaint Village. All waste at Wolwedans is recycled, and much of the camp’s fresh produce is grown in our on-site organic gardens where guests get a chance to see most of the fresh produce they’re enjoying, being grown. Soon, Wolwedans hopes to introduce dairy cows, a chicken coup and an expansion of our organic garden. If you are inspired, make a donation to the various projects unfolding at the Village.
