The DA (Desert Academy) teaches young Namibians all aspects of the hospitality industry including courses on housekeeping, maintenance, guiding, kitchen and administration.
To date more than 100 students have passed their exams and received a diploma by the National Training Authority, many of which have since been recruited by local hotels and restaurants. The average intake is 36 trainees per annum of which 20 trainees’ progress to specialize at Level 3, which is a 24 month program. Since the inception of the institutions in 2007 a total of 198 trainees have been trained in various levels and qualifications in the hospitality training.
