Senior Sales & Reservations Consultant

The Wolwedans Reservations Desk is looking for a qualified senior sales and reservations consultant to join the small, dynamic team at our Windhoek city based office. As a senior consultant responsible for sales targets and communicating sales promotions and campaigns to drive sales – the position is geared towards either somebody with sales experience or a target-driven individual. The candidate will also be encouraged to foster relationships with local and international agents and DMC’s, attend travel trade shows and tourism exhibitions and manage agent databases on a regular basis. Our collection of camps and lodges are nestled in the vast NamibRand Private Nature Reserve and this makes our product unique, so we hope to fill this position with a nature and outdoor enthusiast.

The key responsibilities and duties of this role will be:

  • Quality Assurance and Service Excellence
  • Promoting and marketing Wolwedans and its services
  • Dealing with customer queries and complaints
  • Providing advice about visas, passports and marriage licenses
  • Training and supervising new team members
  • Managing budgets and sales targets
  • Executing accurate reservations whilst managing and reducing availability on the grid
  • Meeting profit or sales targets
  • Maintaining statistical and financial records
  • Seasonal planning and regular reporting
  • Selling Wolwedans holidays and car rentals through the Travel Desk service
  • Contributing to promotional materials and displays
  • Proactively maintaining relationships with all destination management companies (DMC's), agents and clients
  • Maintaining client and agent databases for effective and targeted communication
  • Maintain service and quality levels

Whilst providing on-going communication to the financial manager and MD on sales targets, performance interventions and general tourism trends - the senior consultant will also be required to bring innovative new processes and interventions to the team to improve service levels and customer experience.

Essential Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Minimum of 3-5 plus years' experience in the corporate or leisure travel management industry
  • Teamwork and professional spoken and written communication
  • Solid working knowledge of the travel industry, policies, procedures and processes
  • Advanced skills with Innkeeper Inventory Mgt. Software and knowledge of Nightsbridge Booking System
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (German is a bonus)
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work flexible hours and regular localized travel
  • Ability to work independently, exercising discretion and judgment
  • Demonstrated excellent professional customer service and problem resolution skills
  • Strong problem solving and/or critical thinking skills

     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Tourism Diploma / Bachelor degree preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated internet research skills for customer information
