horseback @ wolwedans
in association with Namibia Horse Safari Company
You love the wide open spaces, dunes and vistas of NamibRand - and Wolwedans in particular? Now you can experience this magnificent landscape and it’s wild inhabitants from horseback. Other than walking, there can hardly be a better way to get up close and personal with nature. This exhilarating activity was launched at Wolwedans in September 2013 and our Village is now complete with horse stables and a resident professional horse guide.
Horseback rides are a premium activity offered in conjunction with Namibia Horse Safaris company and can be can be tailored to suit each guest's riding ability. Different options (always on a first come first serve basis) include: a two hour mid-morning ride around the village; three to four hour morning or sunset rides with either breakfast, or a sundown ride in the dunes, as well as day-rides (5 - 6 hours on horseback) with a picnic lunch served in the field (normally at Jagkop mountain). The horses range from gentle souls to more lively steeds. Each is assigned based on the guest's level of experience. For more information, please have a look at the different options for rides and feel free to enquire with your guide or our camp management.
Please note; during the warm summer months (November untill March) the horses are taken to cooler and greener pastures in Namibia's high lands. No horse riding activities are offered during this time.
